Honda donates P1-M to PRC for Kristine-hit families

MANILA: Honda Foundation Incorporated (HFI)— the Japanese car and motorcycle brand’s corporate social responsibility arm (CSR) — has donated P1 million to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to aid families in the province of Batangas, Region 5 (Bicol), and Northern Luzon, who were severely affected by Tropical Storm Kristine. 

Through the donation, HFI is hoping to provide hope and inspiration to the aforementioned families in the said regions. 

“PRC has been a trusted partner of Honda in reaching out and helping communities for decades, notable during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and Super Typhoon Odette in 2021,” the HFI board said. 

“Recently, in September 2024, PRC received life-saving generator sets to power up Philippine Red Cross chapters nationwide. Honda will continue nurturing its partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, sharing the common value of saving Filipino lives,” the HFI board shared. 

“Furthermore, Honda, with deep gratitude to the Filipinos who continuously patronize Honda products, will always stand alongside the community in rebuilding and realizing the dream of a bright future for every family. Together for tomorrow,” the HFI board added. 

As mentioned above, the HFI handles the CSR initiatives of all Honda-related companies based in the Philippines. The aforementioned includes motorcycle and power products manufacturer and distributor Honda Philippines Incorporated, Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated, Honda Parts Manufacturing Incorporated, and Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corporation, the marque’s storage and warehousing company. 

The HFI was established back in 1992 as a non-stock, non-profit organization, and it has since adopted several advocacies, such as environmental protection, helping the youth, and supporting local communities - among others.
