Honda unveils new EV line

MANILA: Honda has unveiled its latest electrified vehicle (EV)s lineup that will become available for the Chinese market.

Called the Ye Series, the all-new line includes the P7 and S7 (first set of the series) and GT Concept (second set). The three models are scheduled to be exhibited at the upcoming 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024).

Per Honda, the new series was coined from the Chinese letter that means “shine brilliantly.” A total of six Ye models will be launched in China by 2027.

The recently-launched series wears the new “H” mark that is only available on Honda’s next generation models.

According to the Japanese automaker, Ye Series models further refine the “joy of driving” by applying a newly developed dedicated EV platform developed in China and integrating it with electrification technologies Honda has amassed over many years.

All Honda Ye series models are also being developed with an artificial intelligence-powered assistant among other technologies.

Ye P7, S7

Known as the first set of Ye Series models, the all-new P7 and S7 were developed based on the newly developed dedicated EV platform and will be available in two powertrain variations: a one-motor rear-wheel drive and two-motor four-wheel drive. The first option provides sporty and crisp handling while the second one offers both high power and responsive handling.

The aforementioned models have a spacious cabin for front and rear seat occupants. LED lights on the instrument panel and door panels change in conjunction with the AI-powered assistance and other functions.

The all-new Ye P7 and Ye S7 models are scheduled to go on sale at the end of 2024.

Ye GT Concept

Meanwhile, the Honda Ye GT Concept has a “low and wide” silhouette pertaining to the grand tourer name complemented by the driver seat design.

A far-focus display for the front seat passenger will be adopted for the first time for Honda automobile products — offering an immersive space similar to a private theater.

As the second set of the Ye Series models, production models based on the Ye GT Concept are scheduled to go on sale before the end of 2025.
