Hyundai breaches 100-M vehicle production milestone

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company has produced a cumulative total of 100 million vehicles worldwide. 

The said milestone was achieved by the South Korean marque in just 57 years since the company’s foundation. Per the brand, it is one of the fastest in the automotive industry to have reached the production milestone.

To push it even further, Hyundai even rolled out its 100 millionth and first vehicle at its Ulsan Plant. The special unit is an Ioniq 5, and it was given a special ceremonial inspection at the Ulsan Plant’s conveyor belt before being handed over directly to a client. 

Per the Korean marque, many historic points in the company timeline have contributed to its latest production milestone. Some of the aforementioned include the formation of its premium brand, Genesis.

The launch of the high-performance N brand and the introduction of electric vehicle (EV) models like the Ioniq 5 were instrumental factors in reaching the milestone as well. 

Furthermore, the automotive conglomerate has since expanded its facilities on a global scale. Just last year, it established the Hyundai Motor Group Global Innovation Center Singapore, its first-ever robotics smart factory for EV models and a symbol of its commitment to sustainability and clean mobility. 

It is likewise set to open future production facilities, such as the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, which will be equipped to the utmost in order to meet the brand’s goals of maximizing production efficiency while keeping it green and sustainable. 

More importantly, the company also acknowledged the hard work of its employees, which played a part in its recent production milestone. 

“Each and every employee at Hyundai Motor has contributed to the accumulation of 100 million units through their hard work and dedication. This auspicious occasion is just the first step toward the future era of electrification that Hyundai Motor will lead,” President and Head of Domestic Productions and Chief Safety Officer at Hyundai Motor Company Dong Seock Lee said.
