Hyundai extends warranty for all its vehicles around the world

MANILA:  In a bid to assist Hyundai owners around the world who face the risk of not getting their vehicles (under warranty) serviced because of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the South Korea-headquartered carmaker steps up.

Hyundai Motor Company has just launched a warranty extension policy for more than its 1.21 million vehicles in 175 countries around the world.

If the warranty of your vehicle expires between March and June 2020, you will be given an extension of up to three months.

With this new policy, Hyundai hopes to allay concerns owners may have about not being able to visit a dealership for maintenance and warranty repairs because of the ECQ.

What does this mean for Hyundai owners in the Philippines?

Zigwheels.ph spoke to a Hyundai executive who wishes to remain anonymous. He said that if it’s a directive issued by the head office in Korea, they will comply. Unfortunately, because the ECQ that has been extended until April 30, 2020, the implementation will have to be done sometime in May 2020 or when the ECQ is finally lifted.

As with any global brand, Hyundai stresses that it puts the health and safety of its customers and employees in high regard and is closely monitoring COVID-19 developments while continuing to comply with regulations implemented in its local markets.

“We appreciate that many of our customers may have limited or no access to vehicle servicing during these extraordinary times. With these warranty extensions, we wish to set their minds at ease regarding eligibility for warranty repairs and related services in the coming months. Not only do we care about our customers’ health and safety, we care about the ‘health’ and safety of their vehicles as well,” said Wonhong Cho, executive vice president and head of Customer Experience Division at Hyundai Motor Company.
