Hyundai Motor PH, Knowell donates school bags to local communities

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH), in partnership with Knowell, has donated school bags to local communities. 

Through the “Hope in a Bag” project, the local wing of the South Korean carmaker and the Philippine-based bag maker, who specialize in using sustainable materials, have handed out a total of 1,130 bags. 

To recall, HMPH has partnered with Knowell on various events such as the Hyundai Mobility Experience, where customers redeemed exclusive Hyundai-branded Knowell bags as part of on-site promotions, such as: 

• Hyundai Mobility Experience 2025 to kick off at Alabang
• Hyundai Mobility Experience goes back to Cebu
• Hyundai Palisade Hybrid makes 1st public appearance at HME SM Aura
• Hyundai Motor PH showcases new Santa Fe variant at HME tour Alabang leg

For every bag redeemed during the brand’s events, Hyundai pledged an equivalent donation of one school bag, innovating the customer experience by allowing customers to be a part of a good cause.

Last month, HMPH distributed the accumulated bags — with the assistance of local government units, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and local school administrators — to the following communities: 

• Talisay City, Cebu
• Taguig City 
• Iba, Zambales 

Likewise, DSWD Residential Care Facilities also were recipients of bags. These include: 

• Marillac Hills 
• Haven for Children 
• Nayon ng Kabataan 

Per HMPH, the said initiative reflects the brand’s commitment to its global vision of “Progress for Humanity,” extending care beyond mobility and fostering opportunities for learning and growth. 

The project — HMPH pointed out — also underscores the company’s sustainability efforts and advocacy for social responsibility, reinforcing its role as a brand that innovates not only in mobility but also in creating positive impact for society.

We are thrilled to have donated over a thousand schoolbags to several beneficiaries nationwide to cap off 2025, all thanks to the support of our customers. This shows our customers that when you are a Hyundai owner, you get to make a difference,” HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete was quoted as saying.
