Is BYD Cars PH now the 3rd best-selling vehicle distributor in PH?

MANILA: Is BYD Cars Philippines now the third biggest vehicle distributor in the country in terms of retail performance?

Today, the ACMobility subsidiary reported that its sales for the full 12 months of 2025 reached 26,122 units.

Cross-checking with the November 2025 year-to-date sales report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), BYD’s retail performance overtook Ford’s — which was the group’s third top-selling marque that time.

The organizations have yet to share their collated 2025 retail output at the time of posting.  

Meanwhile, BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca expressed pride over the aforementioned development.

“2025 marked a significant milestone in the advancement and broader adoption of New Energy Vehicles in the country,” Palanca said

“BYD’s strong growth underscores our sustained commitment to democratizing electrified mobility. It demonstrates that when innovation is paired with accessibility, the market responds positively. We remain firmly focused on making electric vehicles attainable for Filipino households nationwide,” he added.

Performance details

Per BYD Cars Philippines, its sales reflect a 446-percent year-on-year increase that “solidifies BYD’s position as the leader in the new energy vehicle (NEV) market.”

Fueling the momentum was the high consumer demand across its lineup.

Leading BYD’s sales in the country are the Seagull and Sealion 6 DM-i.

Following this success, BYD and ACMobility renewed their partnership that started in August 2023.

Aside from that the brand announced that its 79-dealer network was achieved last year — a significant jump from 2024's 25 locations.

“These milestones are a clear signal of our unwavering, long-term commitment to the Philippine market,” BYD Philippines Country Head Adam Hu was quoted as saying. “Together with ACMobility, we are committed to fueling this momentum and making new energy vehicles the standard, not the exception, for Filipino drivers,” he ended.

Relatedly, BYD's premium sub-brand Denza officially entered the local market via BYD Philippines.
