Isuzu Philippines promoting environmental awareness by collaborating with car clubs
MANILA: In order to spread awareness about environmental issues and Filipino culture, Isuzu Philippines recently conducted a camping event in the country. This camping event was conducted by collaborating with various Isuzu car clubs between May 13 and May 14 at the Makiling Botanic Gardens. The event was also joined by Team Isuzu Pilipinas (TIP), Team Isuzu Car Enthusiasts (Team ICE) and mu-X Owners Philippines (mu-X OP).
IPC President, Hajime Koso said, “ On the occasion of IPC’s 20th year anniversary, we invited select car club members to join the company’s eco-camp to instill unity and camaraderie amongst different Isuzu car clubs nationwide. In addition, the camp also focuses on protection of the environment and Filipino culture through traditional games. This is the first part of the series which we have scheduled for this year.”
On the first day of the event, the participants were given an orientation about the Makiling Forest Reserve which was further followed by a demonstration on how to plant a seed properly. After the orientation, the members were taken to 13-hectare forest land inside the botanic garden to plant additional seedlings. For the kids, a tour of the Museum of Natural History was organized where they learned about local flora and fauna.
After the tour, they were given orientation on the basic camping and survival skills to guide the participants. Next day was dedicated towards mountain trek and the ones who signed-up were assisted by IPC to Makiling’s mudspring and flatrocks. The trek was followed lunch and finally a drive back to Manila.
