James Bond-inspired Land Rover Defender 90 rally car marks 60 years of 007

MANILA: As Land Rover marks the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, the British brand will enter the 2022 Bowler Defender Challenge with a Defender 90 with livery inspired by the film on March 26. 

The 007-inspired Defender 90 will be driven by three-time British Rally Champion Mark Higgins alongside experienced co-driver Claire Williams. Aside from rally driving, Higgins has been a stunt driver in four James Bond films, such as Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die.

The one-off black and gold Defender livery showcases the titles of all 25 James Bond films, across the vehicle's hood, tailgate, roof, and sides, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the franchise. 

The 007-inspired Defender is based on a current Defender 90, powered by the P300 Ingenium powertrain making 300s. It features a host of safety modifications, including a full roll cage, enhanced cooling for the engine and transmission, a sports exhaust and new rear roof spoiler.

Other enhancements include strengthened 18-inch Bowler wheels with all-terrain tires, and a bespoke suspension design with modified subframes, new springs and unique turrets for increased stiffness.
