J&T Express in Indonesia beefs up with cargo planes

MANILA: Along with the rise of e-commerce because of the COVID-19 pandemic and advancements in technology, J&T Express Philippines lauded  J&T Express Indonesia’s opening of a new generation of aviation courier services last March 18. 

J&T Express Indonesia revealed one of seven all-cargo aircraft it has  as to improve the logistics services of the company while lowering transportation costs at the Budiarto Airport in Tangerang City, Indonesia.

The leased Boeing 737-300 model has a maximum capacity of 15 tons, and its goal is to cater primarily to the Jakarta-Batam-Tanjung Pinang and Jakarta-Medan cargo routes, with at least two flights daily. 

According to the J&T Express Group, introducing an all-cargo charter model in Indonesia would significantly lower air transportation costs, establish effective and reliable air transportation services, and improve air transportation capacity. 

J&T Express, founded in 2015, provides assistance to Indonesia  with same-day delivery. The cutting-edge aircraft of J&T Express are loaded and unloaded on the same day. 

Meanwhile, inter-island express mail excluding Jawa are delivered the following day. Through the inclusion of dedicated air freight, J&T Express customers can benefit from faster delivery times.  

J&T Express Philippines Vice President Zoe Chi said, “We are constantly expanding our reach, updating our roster of quality courier services, and maximizing technology to make operations safe, efficient, reliable, and customer-oriented to cater to the diverse needs of (clients).”

J&T Philippines has been offering logistics services to Filipinos since 2019 and is rapidly becoming a major player in e-commerce delivery.

Chi added, “As part of the J&T Express global brand, we applaud J&T Indonesia’s initiatives to provide faster and better services to its customers.”

To date, J&T Express Philippines comprises 600 branches with free pick-up services. These branches provide services to almost all provinces nationwide throughout the year even during holidays.
