MANILA: Honda Brio Amaze is running down the Philippines road for a while now and as per the recent update this well known car has finally got a facelift. But we are not part of this celebration, wondering why? Well, it's because the facelifted version has skipped the Philippines soil and has entered the Thai market. And for your update, the all-new Brio Amaze has not done this type of betrayal for the first time with the Filipinos, as the facelifted version is already on sale in the Indian market and was on display at IIMS 2016, Indonesia. This leaves us again with the question - When Honda will grace the Philippines market with 2016 Honda Brio Amaze?

Well, only Honda is capable of answering this question and that we feel is going to take a while. So, until then let's enjoy the recently revealed special edition Brio Amaze and see, How lifted is the facelifted Brio Amaze? And to make things refined and simpler we'll discuss each segment separately.

If not a lot but still a sizable amount of update is done by Honda on new Brio Amaze. All in all, the car looks sportier than its previous form and has a lot of elements that contribute to its sporty aura. Like on the front, 2016 Brio Amaze now spots a new LED illumination headlight, 'Solid Wing Face' grille that replaces the old dual-strip chrome grille, new fog lamp case and honeycomb design air intakes. Turning ourselves to the side, we see that earlier fender integrated turn indicators are now replaced by ORVM fitted indicators, also Brio Amaze prominent wheel arches now houses 14-inch alloy wheels that are only available with the 1.3L variant in the Philippines. Finally coming to the rear portion, what we found most highlighting is its pinched boot lid, new swept back tail light with better graphics, revised rear bumper and light yet attractive chrome work.

Cabin Look & Feel

Out of all the segments, Brio Amaze interior is the area that has received maximum number of revisions. One thing that we noticed about Brio Amaze new interior is its heavy amount of inspiration from its other family member, Jazz. First, talking about the driver's arena, it gets a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls and blue tone instrument binnacle, both looking similar to the previous version. At the centre console, one can find updates like automatic air-con system, multi-information display, and rectangular air con vents. Other new features that'll now accompany Brio Amaze 2016 are smart key, push start/stop button, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Engine Configuration

Now, this is the area where we consider ourselves lucky. Though we are still driving the older version but we have the bigger mill, unlike the new TH-spec Brio Amaze that is fitted with a smaller mill. To be specific, the Thailand launched car gets a 1.2L SOHC L 12 inline-four i-VTEC engine benefiting from Honda's Earth Dreams Technology and churning out a maximum output of 90 PS. The mill is coupled to continuously variable transmission and is compatible with Euro-4 standards.

Safety & Security

Guarding its Brio Amaze safety front are present gears like dual SRS airbag, Anti-lock Braking System, Alarm System and Electronic Brake Force Distribution.
