Mercedes-Benz EQV to reach PH market in 2024?

Mercedes-Benz will likely expand the electric vehicle (EV) lineup in the Philippines soon as it is keen on bringing the EQV by 2024.

A reliable source shared to Zigwheels Philippines that the Three-Pointed Star marque’s local arm (IC Star Automotive Incorporated) is eyeing to introduce the Mercedes-Benz V-Class’ electrified version within the first half of next year as part of its efforts to further its sustainable mobility efforts in the luxury mobility category.

To note, the firm has just introduced the EQ badge made up of four vehicles: the Mercedes-Benz EQA 250 Electric Art, EQB 250 Electric Art, EQE 300 Electric Art, and EQE 350+ AMG Line.

Considered as the brand’s first fully-electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Mercedes-Benz EQV made its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019.

Should the local distributor be able to bring it for the local market, here are the vehicle’s possible specifications that its customers could enjoy.

Per Mercedes-Benz, the EQV is powered by an electric motor that can dish out 201 horsepower and 362 Newton-meters of torque, propelling the vehicle to speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. It is mated to a lithium-ion battery that can carry as much as 90 kilowatt-hours of energy that allows its cover distances as far as 418 kilometers.

The Mercedes-Benz EQV recently received updates in terms of aesthetics.

For its exterior, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class-inspired EV wears its large logo sitting at the middle of its gloss-black grille, and 18-inch wheels that are made exclusive for the nameplate.

Inside, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQV will probably have leather upholstery that covers the six- to eight-seating capacity, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) technology that will complement connectivity and convenience features like Bluetooth, AUX, USB, Apple CarPlay, and voice control.
