Nissan launches IDS autonomous concept car at 2015 Tokyo Motor Show

MANILA: Nissan has launched its much-awaited IDS autonomous driving concept car at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The Show is hosted in order to showcase some fresh vehicles by the renowned automobile manufacturers who preview innovative technologies including self-driven, environment-friendly, digital approach assuring exceptional power. The Japanese automaker reveals that this electric powered vehicle will revolutionize the automobile industry with the package and the concept will facilitate drivers to drive with more safety.

The new concept gets amazing Drive Mode that allows convenient driving along the steering wheel. The Nissan IDS Concept is powered by a high-capacity 60 kWh battery that delivers amazing power boost with the help of its full carbon-fibre body. It also gets enhanced aerodynamics, low stance,and reduced weight. The vehicle is designed especially for long drives and it also includes some modern technologies like Piloted Park that allows the driver to operate via smartphone or tablet. The buyer can also charge the car using the wireless technology.

Moreover,the Chief Executive of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, announced that the company is working on implementation of the self-driving technology in different cars and would finally create a fleet by the year 2020. Before going to the production line, Nissan has also planned to bring autonomous driving cars on Japan's street during 2016.

Adding more about the new IDS concept, Mr. Ghosn says, "It compensates for human error which causes more than 90 percent of all car accidents. As a result, time spent behind the wheel is safer, cleaner, more efficient and more fun”. In recent timers, it has been observed that Nissan is also going through many technological transformations and leading in the production of concept cars.

The IDS Concept is also employed with variety of safety features to monitor normal traffic. At the end of the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Ghosn added that, “ Initially the production version for IDS Nissan would be launched in Japan, China, Europe and America”. Well, It would be indeed interesting to welcome the production model of this beautiful concept.
