The Omoda X will be offered with plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) powertrain options. Specific powertrain specifications have yet to be announced. Moreover, the Omoda X will boast the same elevated levels of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) as other Omoda & Jaecoo nameplates. Per the Chinese sister brands, the SIVP and the AI pilot work in tandem to provide a “full-scenario smart mobility experience.” Not many details about these were shared, but we are guessing they will have some capability for autonomous driving.
Going back to its powertrain, no details were also disclosed. It was, however, touted as capable of achieving sports-car agility while offering some level of off-road capability.
Appearance-wise, the published design sketch of the Omoda X suggests a very angular look similar to that of the Omoda 4, which was launched at Auto China 2026.
Photo from Omoda & JaecooBasically, the upcoming Omoda X shares the same “cyber mecha” exterior language as the Omoda 4, as demonstrated by the sketch’s highly angular overall shape. Sure, the sketch won’t be a one-to-one representation of the final product, but the real-life example of this design direction on the Omoda 4 suggests a pointed nose, very sharp LED lighting fixtures, a rakish roofline, and deep-cut character lines.
Omoda likewise cited the Omoda 5, 7, and 4 as the previous steps in its “exploration” of the crossover formula. So, if we have to guess again, the Omoda X might just look more “extreme” and edgier compared to the three aforementioned nameplates.
Notably, this is a global debut, and the Omoda X isn’t likely to come to the Philippine market anytime soon.
Currently, the brand’s locally available lineup of models consists of the following:
