Rolls-Royce Dawn Launched – 'The Sexiest Car Ever'

Carrying forward the 1952 legacy of Silver Drawn drophead, this masterpiece was revealed to the world at Goodwood, England, hometown of Rolls Royce. Further, the soft-top convertible is due for an official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, next week. Though, it shares some underpinning from its big brothers Ghost sedan and Wraith coupe, it still carries a distinct style that can only suit an aura so strong. Propelled by a 6.6-litre twin turbocharge V-12 engine, capable enough to generate 563 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque when mated with a ZF eight-speed transmission. These power figures are enough to move the 5,644 pound, rear-wheel drive Drawn at a speed of 62 miles per hour and that too in just 5 seconds. What remains same is the 2:1 wheel height to body height ratio that is followed by the company since long.

The grille and bumper now carry distinct horizontal lines that are a major change over from the traditional vertical lines. The beautiful and contemporaneity design language continues to follow to the side and rear end of the car. In addition, to its exquisite outer body, the interior space is wrapped in hand-stitched Mandarin leather seats that provide cozy comfort and ample sitting space. Great wood work now highlights the entire interior space, including the deck surrounding and center console. Taking full care of your entertainment is the new 16-spoke audio system.

Claimed as the quietest convertible of all times, Dawn is armed with six layers of material that are placed with an intention to eliminate the noise in the cabin when the top is up. Adding to its 'vow of silence' is the motor that lifts the convertible, it precisely takes 22 seconds to open/close.

Safety is no joke, and Rolls Royce seems to know it well. In an event of the rolling over, the car will automatically deploy a roll-over protection system. From the rear head restraints to the windscreen, it surrounds the complete car. The safety kit further includes an automatic cruise control system, radar and camera on front bumper and valance. Satellite Aided Transmission, first seen on Wraith now finds a place in this new Dawn and is destined to assist the driver and adjust the mechanism to suit the approaching turns and curves.

The car will enter into the production cycle at the beginning of the next year and is expected to carry a price tag of PhP 1,524,8190. Adding amenities will cost you more and can reach to a PhP  1,876,700 mark.
