Toyota CH-R concept soon be a Production Model
MANILA: The wrapping up of Frankfurt Motor Show has sent active vibes throughout the auto industry. After showcasing their high-end concepts, it's time now for the brands to bring in some on-road production models. So now after Mazda, a Toyota-badged car was caught roaming around in Germany, all covered up in black sheets. The new subcompact crossover will go up against the likes of Chevrolet Trax and Mazda CX-3, adding fuel to the already flamed up crossover market.
Though, no specific name for the upcoming car has been finalized yet but it will most probably be a 2017 model. The C-HR concept was first seen back in 2014 Paris Motor Show and after that it made a reappearance at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Both the appearances hinted towards a hybrid power train underneath and is said to be one of the most powerful hybrids to be ever offered from Toyota.
In addition to an electric motor, the car will also be offered with a conventional power mill, and we can expect the base model to be energized from a four-cylinder CVT enabled engine. As for the styling, we can see some designing cues borrowed from the new Prius, but what excites us the most is to see how Toyota will mold the futuristic looks carried by the concept into its production car. The interior space has never been revealed by Toyota, not even for the two concepts, but the band promised more upscale interior with improved materials for all the cars using the new TNGA platform.
Following the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, where Toyota plans to unveil the new car C-HR that is most likely to go on sale in the second half of 2016.
