Toyota companies sell over 774,000 units worldwide in Feb.

MANILA: Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has released its February 2022 sales figures, as well as the cumulative total from January to February, which includes statistics for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. and Hino Motors, Ltd.

TMC was able to sell a total of 774,860 units worldwide last February, 701,339 of which were Toyota, 61,288 were Daihatsu, and 12,233 were Hino.

In February 2022, global sales were almost unchanged from the previous year. The parts supply bottleneck due to the spread of COVID-19 hampered global production, but with the assistance of TMC's suppliers, foreign output was able to hit a new high for February.

Furthermore, by the end of February 2022, overall global sales of electric vehicles (HEV, PHEV, FCEV, BEV) had reached 20 million units, owing to the support of many customers. As of the end of February 2022, Toyota estimates that the deployment of electrified vehicles has resulted in around 160 million fewer metric tons of CO2 emissions and 65 million kiloliters of fuel saved. Toyota vows to continue developing better cars in the future, including a comprehensive range of electrified vehicles, in order to achieve a carbon-neutral society.

Cumulative sales from January to February 2022 reached 1,600,815 units, 1,453,494 of which were Toyota, 123,561 were Daihatsu, and 23,760 were Hino.
