Chery Auto PH is introducing two models this year, and one could be an all-electric city car. What is Jetour Auto Philippines launching this year?
Jetour Auto PH is set to roll out the G700 and F700 models for the local market in 2026.The aforementioned were announced by their respective brand heads at the opening ceremony of the ongoing United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI) On the Move roadshow held at SM Mall of Asia until March 1, 2026.
Chery, Lynk & Co: upcoming models
Franz Decloedt, the managing director of Chery Auto Philippines, announced that the brand plans to introduce two new energy vehicle models in the coming months.
“We have more things coming from Chery. This year, we are looking at bringing in two more new energy vehicles. One of them will be cute, I believe,” Decloedt said.
Decloedt, who is also the brand head of Lynk & Co’s local arm, also shared that the luxury marque will also be launching two NEV nameplates this year.
For now, it wasn’t indicated what these cars are, but Chery’s two upcoming models could include a subcompact model, as Decloedt described it as “cute.”
To speculate, this could be the QQ Domi - a city car-sized nameplate that could be a strong contender against the likes of the VinFast VF3, and as a fully-electric alternative against small internal combustion hatchbacks like the Toyota Wigo and Suzuki S-Presso.
Jetour: upcoming models
At the opening of the UAAGI On the Move roadshow, Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated Managing Director Miguelito Jose also mentioned the future launches of the G700 sport utility vehicle (SUV) and the F700 pickup truck.
According to the head of Jetour’s local arm, the G700 slots into the luxury SUV segment. Upon checking out Jetour’s global website, the vehicle is classified as a full-size nameplate, so it could be the largest model in the brand’s lineup once it officially launches locally.
In other markets, the Jetour G700 is a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and two electric motors. The one sold in global markets also has a total output of 904 horsepower (hp) and 1,135 Newton-meters of torque.
Furthermore, the model boasts an electric vehicle range of around 100 kilometers and a well-appointed interior fitted with a 35.4-inch display, massage and ventilated seats, and an air suspension system.
To note, the future arrival of the G700 was hinted at by the brand during the launch of the T1 Lightning i-DM last year. However, Miguelito Jose's announcement of the F700 is a new development that could be exciting for local pickup truck enthusiasts.
Notably, the Jetour F700 uses the same platform as the G700. It also uses a similar powertrain with up to 900 hp and around 100 km of electric range. The truck model even shares the same angular, boxy design as its SUV sibling, but it does have a roomy cargo bed.
Both the Jetour G700 and F700 are built on a unibody chassis, unlike traditional off-roaders built on ladder-frame platforms. On the other hand, some variants in other countries were kitted out to handle harsh terrain, thanks to their locking differentials, generous ground clearances, and an intelligent 4x4 system with a crawl mode and a dedicated low-speed mode.
Jetour T1 Lighting i-DM Panther Edition
Apart from the announcements mentioned above, the UAAGI On the Move roadshow also highlighted the Jetour T1 Lighting i-DM Panther Edition - a new T1 variant that currently retails at P2.098 million.
Like the standard Jetour T1 i-DM, the Panther Edition uses a PHEV powertrain, a MacPherson strut and multi-link rear suspension system, and a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
Its exterior, however, has several adventure-oriented additions, which include, but are not limited to:
- Roof-mounted LED auxiliary lamps
- Retractable stepboards
- Roof rack with side ladders
- 255/55 R19 all-terrain tires
