VinFast to introduce ‘Vivi’ in-car tech in PH

MANILA: VinFast is expected to introduce its latest in-car technology in the Philippines within the year.

In a recent engagement with the media, VinFast Philippines Sales and Training Manager Radcliffe Santiago announced that the Vivi voice command feature will be offered in the country — as well in other markets — come the third quarter of 2025.

Per Santiago, the said program will not be limited to those who will buy VinFast models in the future as clients who already purchased a unit can still have it.

“Customers only have to visit dealers to update the system once it (Vivi) is ready,” he told Zigwheels Philippines.

Further, no additional payments will be required for the Vivi installation once it becomes available in the country. Aside from that, the application will not entail any hardware replacements since it utilizes over-the-air (OTA) technology.

Upon checking VinBigData’s (Vingroup’s technology company) website, Vivi has already been made available in the VF e34 (likely in its home country) as early as 2021.

What is Vivi?

The in-car application allows the drivers to do the tasks offline and hands free:

• Navigation
• Calling
• Messaging
• Playing music
• Reading news
• Controlling car functions

"Most of the car functionalities that can be accessed in VinFast infotainments can be tweaked here," Santiago said.

To wake the application up, Vivi must receive a “Hey VinFast” prompt from its user.

"It makes the car more accessible, without the need for internet nor haptic keys; convenient as you can ask the program to do the adjustments for you; and safer since you have your full attention on the road," Santiago added.

Moreover, most of the VinFast models that are available in the country — except for the VF3 which only carries basic car amenities — will have the Vivi technology.
