VinFast PH shares 3-pronged strategy to win EV buyers

MANILA: VinFast Philippines has shared its three-pronged strategy to win over Filipino car buyers wanting to switch to electric mobility.

These — the Vietnamese carmaker’s local subsidiary pointed out — cover the areas of electric vehicle (EV) charging, resale, and financing.

Free EV charging

VinFast Philippines revealed that the company will offer free EV charging at the marque’s recharge stations through 2027 to help reduce immediate operating costs and reassure potential customers.

The brand is working with EV charging network operator V-Green, which aims to develop 15,000 charging ports nationwide in 2025.

Buyback program

One of the most common concerns of Filipino motorists is a vehicle’s resale value.

That said, VinFast Philippines opens a buyback program, which guarantees up to 90 percent of the vehicle’s original price — depending on how long it has been owned.

Per the brand, the said program applies across their entire lineup and not just for premium models.

Financing initiatives

It is no secret that the majority of car buyers in the Philippines choose to finance their rides.

On that note, VinFast Philippines partnered with Banco De Oro and EastWest Bank. Its collaboration with the said financial institutions will help its customers enjoy more flexible payment terms.

As a result, more car buyers can overcome the high upfront costs of EV ownership.

Increased brand presence

VinFast Philippines is also working to increase brand reach and presence.

Recently, the company revealed that it will open some 60 dealerships in the country under six distributors.
