Vingroup founder's 2 sons get VinFast, Green GSM key leadership posts

MANILA: Vingroup has made new leadership appointments for VinFast and GSM—turning over the two sub-brands’ reins to the founder’s two sons.

In a statement, the company announced that current VinFast Global chair Pham Nhat Quan Anh, will, in parallel, serve as VinFast Global chief executive officer (CEO)—succeeding his father Pham Nhat Vuong, while also being the chairman and CEO of VinFast Vietnam.

On the other hand, Pham Nhat Minh Hoang will become CEO of GSM Global and concurrently CEO of GSM Vietnam, succeeding Nguyen Quoc Tuan, who in turn, will take the chairmanship role of GSM Global from Pham Thu Huong.

Prior to assuming the new post, Anh was already named VinFast Global chair last May. With all the roles under his belt, he will hold ultimate and comprehensive responsibility for all of VinFast’s operations as the company enters a new phase of growth.

Aside from that, Anh will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer of VinMetal Trading and Production JSC, a high-quality steel manufacturer within the Vingroup ecosystem.

On the other hand, Hoang—the Vietnam billionaire’s second son—will succeed Tuan as GSM Global CEO and will also be the GSM Vietnam chief executive.

Hoang—who was born in 2000—already held senior leadership positions at VinFast, Green Future, VinSmart Future, GSM and other companies. He also serves as a major shareholder in VinSpeed, VinEnergo, VinMetal, VinVentures and robotics companies.

Relatedly, Vingroup continues to be the sole Vietnamese company recognized in TIME’s World’s Best Companies this year.

 

Based on the joint evaluation of the globally-renowned magazine and data and market research company Statista, the firm got an overall score of 81, allowing it to take the 340th spot and climb 477 places compared to last year.

The firms were graded across three dimensions: revenue growth, employee satisfaction, and sustainability transparency, supported by in-depth analysis of environmental, social and corporate governance factors.

VinFast in PH

Recently, VinFast in the Philippines has forged alliances with 13 dealer-partners that will result to the development of 27 new showrooms nationwide.

Forged under their respective memoranda of understanding, the agreements aim to establish 27 showrooms for the Haiphong-headquartered automotive marque across the country. They are:

"The Philippines is one of the key markets in VinFast's long-term growth strategy in the region and globally. “With the support of our local partners, VinFast will continue to expand our operations in the years ahead, gradually making green mobility a more accessible and convenient choice for Filipino consumers,” he added.

Green GSM in PH

Moreover, Green GSM Philippines is hosting the “Green GSM Platform Driver Partner Festival”, which is expected to bring together up to 5,000 current and prospective driver partners from September 12-14.

Currently held at The Tent in Las Piñas City and Green GSM's depots, the main highlight of the three-day program is the turnover of 1,000 electric vehicles to partners.

Building on the cooperation between VinFast and Green GSM, the event will further introduce the vehicle rental model designed for Driver Partners. With an initial investment starting from just P5,000, the initiative is aimed at opening additional business options while helping drivers participate in electric vehicle operations.

Available models for driver partners under aforementioned partnership model are:

Four-seater	Herio Green VF 5
Seven-seater	Limo Green

These vehicles are packaged with free charging and VinFast warranty coverage of up to seven years or 160,000 kilometers for the Limo Green, VF 5 and Herio Green.

"Through the Green GSM Platform Driver Partner Festival and Car Handover Week, Green GSM aims to accompany the driver community in its development and expansion while enhancing both quality and professionalism. We seek to create more livelihood opportunities for drivers to access optimized and efficient operating models that can significantly increase their earnings,” Green GSM Philippines CEO Le Thi Thu Trang mentioned.

“At the same time, we expect the event to inspire and help lay the foundation for the next phase of green mobility development in the Philippines."

Currently Green GSM operates electric taxi services in Metro Manila, Central Visayas, and Mindanao.

The firm is also partnering with local taxi operators to bolster the green transition through diverse, flexible, and cost-efficient partnership programs.
