Volkswagen CDO is the first VW dealership in Mindanao

MANILA: The German brand Volkswagen (VW) recently opened its 9th dealership in the Philippines. Through the local distributor, Volkswagen Philippines, and in partnership with Greencars Mindanao Corporation (GMC), the automaker opened its 1,500sqm facility located along Pueblo Business Park at the corner of Paseo de Oro and Mastersons Avenue in Upper Carmen.

The new Volkswagen CDO will cater not just to the automobile market of Cagayan de Oro, but also to the rest of northern Mindanao, including Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, and Lanao del Norte. And just like other VW dealerships in Metro Manila, Luzon, and Visayas, the Volkswagen dealership in CDO has a showroom to showcase the brand’s extensive lineup of vehicles and a service facility to keep their VW vehicles running in top form.

The Cagayan de Oro dealership is an important geographic market for VW. Volkswagen President Felipe Estrella noted that Cagayan de Oro is the country’s 10th most populous city and Region 10’s economic hub. 

During his inauguration speech, he reiterated that “establishing our ninth Volkswagen dealer in the country, at the center of the logistics and business hub of northern Mindanao, was a very easy decision to make… In collaboration with GMC, we are now exactly where we want to be in the region. The residents and enterprises of northern Mindanao will now have more access to the German technology, build quality, and driving experience of Volkswagen automobiles and the accompanying Volkswagen after sales services and support.” 

GMC Chairman of the Board Antonio De La Fuente revealed in his opening remarks that the occasion marked Volkswagen’s return to Cagayan de Oro after a 40-year absence. “It is with pride that we reintroduce Volkswagen to the community. We are happily re-opening the first Volkswagen dealership in Mindanao. Thank you Volkswagen Philippines for your support in making this wonderful comeback happen,” he said.
