Volkswagen ID.4 cabin will get 'floating' dashboard, 30-color lighting
MANILA: Volkswagen has revealed more details about the all-new ID.4 ahead of its global debut later this month.

The ID.4, the brand’s first purely electric SUV, features high-effect lighting, a contemporary design, and adequate space.

Head of Volkswagen Group Design Klaus Zyciora engineered the vehicle together with his team in his former position as Head of Volkswagen Brand Design.
He summed up the interior of the flexible SUV thus: “Freedom on the outside, free space on the inside. The ID.4 delivers a new sense of space to its segment due to the new MEB platform, our modular electric drive matrix.”
The ID.4 door handles are parallel with the body and feature electric unlocking. The passengers and the driver enter the vehicle through wide door openings and they can also enjoy a high seating position, while the rear seat bench gives passengers more than enough space.

Lots of luggage can be quickly placed, and the cargo area offers 0.86 cubic meters with the rear seat up.
Inside, the all-new Volkswagen ID.4 highlights an adequate sense of space. Similar to the exterior design, it seems lightweight and fluid, as it concentrates solely on the significant aspects.

The dash panel appears to be floating, as it is not connected to the center console, which was constructed as a separate component.
A standard panoramic glass roof is available and offers an uninterrupted view of the horizon.
At night, the available 30-color ambient lighting can be changed to set the distinctive highlights in the interior of the car.

The ID.4 also includes the ID. Light, a light strip beneath the windscreen to assist drivers in different conditions with subtle lighting effects in various colors.

For instance, ID. Light alerts the driver that the drive mechanism of the vehicle is functional and that the vehicle has been locked or unlocked. It also magnifies information that the navigation and driver-assist systems provide as well as alerts incoming phone calls and braking prompts.
Cool, elegant colors, Galaxy Black and Lunar Grey, define the ID.4 interior. The door control panels, display housings, the steering column, and the steering wheel are available in contemporary Electric White or stylish Piano Black. The bright color provides a sleek emphasis in the interior of the vehicle and highlights its clear-cut design.
