Hongqi Philippines has launched the E-QM5 sedan sometime this year, marking its entry into the electrified segment of five-seater city cars in the country. 

Since it is touted as a somewhat upmarket option for those who prefer to enjoy opulent drives in the metro, knowing they leave less carbon footprint — many upmarket car enthusiasts have shown interest in the Chinese automobile. 

To help those eyeing the vehicle, we take a quick look at the three tamed hues of the Hongqi E-QM5, which also happen to represent some of the car’s notable features. So without further ado, let’s take a peek at its available colors.

Black 

The pitch-black paint on the Hongqi E-QM5 makes it more sleek — a good look on a compact sedan that will likely be used for office commutes during the weekdays and for crawling malls on the weekend. 

Its dark, yet mysterious finish complements the chrome appointments of the city car. These shiny appliques are found predominantly on its grille, which establishes an air of elegance. Some are also applied to its window surrounds, as well as to its four 18-inch wheels.

Offering a warm mix of brown and white, this beige paintwork adds some level of sophistication to the style of the Hongqi E-QM5. There are several elements that elevate its looks inside and out, so let us go over them briefly. 

At the surface, features that promise definitive luxury are a set of LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights. It also has power windows for added convenience. 

The sedan also boasts flowing lines that create a look that makes it appear as if it breezes through the road — even when standing still in a parking lot. The geometric design of the wheels also presents it as a modern car that is packed with modern amenities. 

Speaking of which, the cabin of the Hongqi E-QM5 gets seats with polyvinyl chloride upholstery paired with a steering wheel swathed in microfiber leather. Notable too are its digital instrument panel and 10-inch infotainment screen. 

The dashboard sports faux wood trims, and the steering wheel is slapped with some Chinese characters — both of which will be a taste acquired over time. Its center console is adorned with various buttons and a gear shifter with an ergonomic handle. 

Overall, the sedan promises luxurious rides in the city as well as the capability to go further thanks to an improved driving range.

Gray 

Powering the Hongqi E-QM5 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a lithium-ion phosphate battery. On a single charge, it can drive up to 560 kilometers before it needs to be plugged in again. 

Sending power to the front wheels, the company’s literature says that it is able to produce up to 187 horsepower. 

In terms of suspension, the Hongqi E-QM5 uses MacPherson struts at the fore and a multi-link independent setup at the rear for a smoother drive.
