Hongqi PH launches E-HS9, E-QM5

MANILA: Hongqi Philippines has expanded its portfolio by adding two new models that target the local premium auto segment. 

Launched today is the Hongqi E-HS9 sport utility vehicle (SUV) and the E-QM5 sedan. The said nameplates were revealed at the marque’s showroom in Taguig.

Hongqi E-HS9 

The Philippine market Hongqi E-HS9 offers would-be owners an elegant SUV with a broad grille flanked by intelligent matrix LED headlamps, flush door handles, panoramic sunroof, a set of 22-inch wheels, and an electric tailgate with memory function. 

Inside, occupants would be greeted with leather seats (Alcantara or Nappa, depending on the variant), a leather steering wheel, and more soft-touch materials lining the cabin. 

Tech-wise, it gets three multi-functional screens on the dashboard, a wireless phone charger, up to 12 speakers, and a four-zone automatic air conditioning system. 

Its power comes from dual electric motors. 

When it comes to its estimated range, the Hongqi E-HS9 can drive up to 515 kilometers (km) on a single charge. 

The Hongqi E-HS9 also gets the following safety and advanced driver-assist features:

• Adaptive cruise control 
• Automatic park assist 
• Intelligent damper control system 
• Tire pressure monitoring 
• Electronic stability program

Per Hongqi Philippines, the E-HS9 has a starting price of P6.48 million.

Hongqi E-QM5 

On the other hand, the Hongqi E-QM5 wants to tap into the country’s sedan segment and presents to car buyers a handsome exterior with a wide fascia bordered by LED headlights with LED daytime running lamps. It also has body-colored handles, side mirrors with repeaters, and a set of 18-inch wheels. 

Inside, it comes with seats upholstered in polyvinyl chloride material paired with a steering wheel swathed in microfiber leather. 

Car buyers can also expect a digital instrument panel and a 10-inch infotainment screen. 

Propulsion is provided by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a lithium-ion phosphate battery. 

Range-wise, it can travel up to 560 km on a single charge.
