Volvo gives EX30 'Cross Country' styling

MANILA: Volvo is sending a message that its EX30 can withstand the toughest conditions with the launch of a dressed-up iteration.

Called the Volvo EX30 Cross Country, the Gothenburg-headquartered marque's latest offering is said to be “designed for people who want big experiences from their small, fully electric sport utility vehicle.”

The brand’s latest offering features appointments that make it an outdoor-ready electrified crossover.

Vehicle specs

Here are the vehicle’s specifications.

The Volvo EX30 Cross Country is said to have a higher ground clearance than the standard version (which is only 171 millimeters) with matching appointment such as:

Beefy skid plates and wheel arch extensions	Bigger wheels
Roof basket	Optional 18-inch all terrain accessory tires
Load carrier	Mud flaps

Aside from that, its front shield and boot lid wears a special dark hue — with the front featuring a unique piece of artwork showing the topography of the Kebnekaise Mountain range in Arctic Sweden.

Inside, the vehicle boasts well-appointed nooks and crannies in the form of:

• Central storage tunnel between driver and passenger
• Storage on the floor between driver and passenger
• Storage box at the rear beneath the central tunnel
• Glove box under the center console
• Compartments on the door

Powering the Volvo Ex30 Cross Country are two electric motors that can dish out the following figures:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	428

Its battery allows the vehicle to cover 427 kilometers (based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure standards) minus the tailpipe emissions.

 “We know that more and more people are seeking ways to get closer to nature,” Volvo Cars Chief Executive Officer Jim Rowan was quoted as saying. “This is why with our new Cross Country Experience, we aim to create an entire ecosystem around those models, supporting our customers as they embrace adventure.”

 Volvo has started the pre-orders for the EX30 Cross Country in select markets, with deliveries starting around the second quarter of the year. However, Hariphil Asia Resources Incorporated has yet to announce if they will bring this version to the Philippines.

To note, the Volvo EX30 has entered the local market in November 2024. The aforementioned offering is only available in Ultra Extended Range trim, which is priced at P2.99 million.
