MANILA: Nissan Philippines has unveiled the company's first 3D immersive advertisement in Asia and the Philippines, continuing to raise the bar for automotive advertising.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Where is the 3D billboard for the Nissan Kicks e-Power located?

The ad for the 2022 Nissan Kicks e-Power has been on display at One Bonifacio High Street, 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City since October.
  • What powers the Nissan Kicks e-Power?

All three variants of the 2022 Nissan Kicks, built on Nissan's unique DNA, boast of e-Power. It is made up of a fully electric motor that produces 136ps of power and 280Nm of torque. A 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, which runs at an ideal speed and is utilized just to charge the Kicks’ battery, increases fuel economy under various driving conditions.
  • The advertisement was unveiled as part of the debut of BGC Beyond, the nation's largest LED billboard, to a select group of automotive and lifestyle media. The 2022 Nissan Kicks e-Power appeared to emerge from a virtual showroom display and fall onto the street below in the advertisement, showing the billboard's high-resolution, anamorphic 3D technology.

“Nissan has always sought to provide excitement built into its products. This also extends to how we create immersive experiences for our customers,” said Juan Manuel Hoyos, President of Nissan Philippines. “The Kicks e-Power is the perfect vehicle for this medium as it revolutionizes the current hybrid technology, offering an exciting and fully electrified drive without the need for plug-in charging,” he added.

Nissan Philippines staged an interactive display in the C1 Park fronting Central Square, 5th Avenue, BGC showcasing the Kicks e-Power, updated Nissan Leaf, and the 2022 Nissan Livina from October 27 to 30. Visitors were able to see and test drive these exciting Nissan models throughout the weekend.

A 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, which runs at an ideal speed and is utilized just to charge the Kicks’ battery, increases fuel economy under various driving conditions.

The battery, e-Power system, and vehicle are all covered by a five-year/150,000-kilometer warranty period for the 2022 Nissan Kicks e-Power.

Regenerative braking is another feature that the 2022 Nissan Kicks e-Power has, further enhancing its remarkable fuel economy. According to testing, the vehicle achieves 22 to 25kpl in a variety of traffic and driving situations.

When compared to other traditional internal combustion engines (ICE) in the same segment, this usage is twice as efficient. With a total fuel tank capacity of 41 liters, the Kicks e-Power can travel up to 900 to 1,000 kilometers on a single tank of petrol.

With the new e-Pedal Step feature, driving is also made simpler and more comfortable because drivers only need to press the accelerator pedal to accelerate or decelerate. As a result, driving in various scenarios, such as on highways or in cities, is much more convenient because there is less of a need to switch from one pedal to another. If the driver wants to fully stop the vehicle, the brake pedal is still present.

When everything is put together, the 2022 Nissan Kicks offers a smooth and powerful ride, whether for driving around town or traveling at top speed.

Beyond power and efficiency, the Nissan Kicks e-Power has smart technologies with Nissan Intelligent Mobility. The three Kicks variants come with the standard Hill Start Assist, while the e-Power VL and e-Power VE variants have the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and the Driver Attention Alert features.

As the flagship variant, the VL variant's Intelligent Around View Monitor is also equipped with Moving Object Detection. Other features include keyless entry with the Intelligent Key and push button engine start-stop systems, alongside Nissan's eight-inch advanced touchscreen display audio and compatibility for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth on the VL and VE variants.

There is no shortage of style with the 2022 Nissan Kicks. Bold exterior colors accentuate Nissan's signature style on this modern sub-compact SUV, which comes in Premium Corona Orange, Cayenne Red, Pearl White, Gun Metallic, Riptide Blue, and Brilliant Silver.

It also has a distinct sporty look with its sleek, black, double V-Motion Grilles, LED signature tail, head and front fog lights, and a silver-toned roof rail to complement the main body. This is also the second model launched locally bearing the new Nissan logo.

Inside, the dynamic design and functionality continues with a seven-inch color TFT display meter presenting the power meter, battery gauge, drive range, and fuel gauge in an easy-to-read layout, and an infotainment system that is easily within reach. The car’s Zero Gravity Seats provide both comfort and style, as do the D-shaped leather steering wheel and the Electronic Parking Brake Switch with Auto Hold Function.

In a statement, Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos said: "Launching the All New Nissan Kicks e-Power in the country is one of the most significant moves in bringing EV adoption closer to the Filipino motorist, and taking the Philippines towards full electric mobility.

We believe that this vehicle will be a game-changer in the market by providing an EV-like drive with compromising fuel-efficiency and cost of ownership. We want to get to a stage where sustainability and carbon neutrality is not just a goal, but a reality that every person can live with our technology.”

While Nissan Philippines co-presented the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, the carmaker also showcased its updated Leaf at the event.

Exclusively distributed by Gateway Motors group in the Philippines and available in select dealerships nationwide, the Leaf’s price remains unchanged at P2.790 million.

The updated Nissan Leaf brings a refreshed, modern exterior and interior design with the full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that provide advanced safety and convenience in every drive.

It carries the new Nissan badge with a redesigned bigger grill, blacked-out headlamps and a new 16-inch alloy wheel design with more spokes and geometric patterns. At the rear, the new Nissan Leaf also has a redesigned spoiler and under diffuser.

In terms of specs, the updated Nissan Leaf retains its electric powertrain that produces a maximum output of 150ps and 320Nm of torque.

Based on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) standards, the 2022 Nissan Leaf's 40 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a range of up to 311 kilometers on a full charge. This is comparable to making a one-way out-of-town journey to Baguio or commuting twice a day for five days between Quezon City and Bonifacio Global City, Nissan calculated.

Drivers of the electric hatchback have a variety of charging options, making charging simple and convenient. With the included universal charging cable and a dedicated wall socket at home, the Leaf may be fully charged in 15 to 18 hours.

In several Nissan dealerships across the country, quick charging stations allow owners to fully charge their Nissan Leaf in as little as 40 to 60 minutes.

Nissan Philippines also reinforced its Blue Switch initiative through a commitment ceremony at the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Blue Switch was introduced earlier this year, highlighting Nissan’s goal to establish partnerships with various organizations to use electric vehicle technologies in addressing social concerns such as disaster response, climate change, responsible travel, and energy management.
