WATCH: Hyundai's 'Expecting Generation One' campaigns for carbon-neutral world
MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company launched a global campaign called "Expecting Generation One," accompanied with the online premiere of a short film. The Korean carmaker said the campaign signals its "commitment to fight climate change and achieve carbon neutrality... for future generations."
"Expecting Generation One" reinforces Hyundai’s recent declaration at the 2021 IAA Mobility Show in Germany.
By 2045, Hyundai aims to achieve carbon neutrality through the development of battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles (BEVs, FCEVs) upon next-generation platforms, and green energy infrastructure.
In the campaign film, which debuted on the company’s official YouTube channel (@HyundaiWorldwide) and other platforms, mothers and grandmothers convey their wishes for a sustainable world, in which future generations of people, animals, plants and ecosystems can thrive together.
According to the Hyundai, its Hydrogen Vision 2040 will see it release its next-gen fuel cell system in 2023.
By 2028, Hyundai plans to become the first automaker to apply fuel cell systems to all its commercial vehicle models. In 2030, Hyundai aims to produce an FCEV with a price point comparable to a BEV.
The company also aims to become a clean mobility provider through its long-term investments in green hydrogen, based on renewable energy, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Second Life Battery Energy Storage Systems (SLBESS).
Hyundai also plans to launch more "Expecting Generation One" campaigns throughout the year.
