World Debut of Tesla Model X

MANILA: The American automotive brand, Tesla Motors, Inc. has finally unveiled company's first electric SUV, the Model X. The brand has certainly electrified the automotive market and with the splashy unveiling of electric SUV in Tesla's factory at California, the company has proved that any kind of car can go electric.

"There's nothing like it in the world. There never has been." Tesla CEO said, “The X sets a new bar for automotive engineering, We want to show any kind of car can go electric, We showed it with sports cars and sedans in the past, and now we’re showing it with SUVs."

Tesla Model X comes in two trims, 90D and P90D where P stands for Performance. Both the variants are fitted with Falcon Wing rear doors with built in sensors that automatically adjust depending on available space, maps and a navigation system, parking sensors with blind spot warning and side collision avoidance and automatic emergency braking to assist avoiding collisions.

The difference comes in performance wherein with range of 413 kilometers, the 90D's front and rear motors will deliver 262 PS to all wheels to shoot up from 0 to 100 kph in 4.8 seconds. The P90D's range is 402 kilometers with rear motor putting out 509 PS and front propelling 262 PS. The time taken to read 100 km/h from 0 will be 3.8 seconds. To reduce this time to 3.2 seconds, one can opt for Ludicrous Speed Upgrade. All this power now justifies its Class 3 towing capacity which means it can pull 5000 pounds easily.

The interiors are mind blowing where Tesla's 'monopost' design gives each seat its own chrome-plated means which ultimately makes forward and backward adjustment of seats easy to deliver supreme comfort to rear passengers. The white motif, 17-inch touchscreen, navigation system, and 17-speaker audio system are all there to give a plush feel.

The price would start at PhP 6,170,340 for Model X 90D and PhP 6,637,790 for P90D. Six customers with prior reservation were handed keys during the launch but for others, you have to wait till late 2016 for deliveries.
