Honda City

The Honda City still continues to be the benchmark in its category when it comes to impeccable in cabin space and comfort. The rear cabin of the Honda City continues to offer best in class legroom and knee room, with sufficient under-thigh support and headroom, making it one of the most comfortable cabins in entry-level sedan category.

Despite being almost ten years old in terms of basic engineering, the 1.5-litre petrol engine of the Honda City continues to be one of the most refined and rev-happy engines to be ever made in the entry-level space. The engine has got remarkable levels of refinement and revs happily without feeling sluggish in the entire rev range.

The current generation Honda City has been blessed with all the top-class comfort and convenience features which are usually associated with sedans of one segment above it. The list of features includes electric sunroof, full LED headlamps, leather upholstery, curtain airbags, and push-button start-stop system, which not only uplift the in-cabin ambience of the Honda City but also justify its premium tag too.

Toyota Vios

Toyota Vios impresses with its under the bonnet capabilities. The NR-series engine is touted to be economical and performance-oriented. The new resonator noodle ensures quietness inside the cabin. Additionally, wind and road noises have been kept under control.

The interiors render a pleasant look - well laid out dash and centre console, softer plastic panels and adequate storage spaces. The auto climate control makes drive joyous for not only front but rear passengers as well. Even on the hottest of days, the air conditioning works quite well.

Safety has been enhanced too. The steering on the Vios is a lot steadier and firmer than before. The suspension is good to bypass bumps and uneven surfaces. This ensures a comfortable driving experience. The Vios now features electronic stability control, hill start assist and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard.

Honda City

While the arrow shot design complements the aerodynamic profile of the Honda City, the overall silhouette of the car along with the basic design has started to show its age. The overall basic design is in existence for almost half a decade without much bigger changes. While the inclusion of features like LED headlamps and machined alloy wheels did try to uplift the design of the car, the Honda City’s side profile and front and rear design remained more or less unchanged in all these years.

Despite the presence of many feel-good features, the overall dashboard design of the Honda City now feels too sober and dated in front of the cabins of other sedans in its space. Some of the switches in the cabin too need an upgrade in terms of quality.

Toyota Vios

The A/C vent cupholders have been removed which served well on long routes. There is no front armrest. Back seats could have been comfier like in the case of Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City.
