The Nissan Almera has been positioned along with the likes of smaller sedans and premium hatchbacks in terms of price, but despite this, the Almera feels long and big. The best-in-class length and wheelbase do give the Nissan Almera a much premium stance for its price.
Apart from imparting a great road presence, the best-in-class length and wheelbase also impart incredible rear-seat space. The knee room and legroom of the back seat of the Nissan Almera feel even better than some of the cars from one and two segments above.
Decent looks
Spacious cabin
Reliable engine
Suzuki’s vast network
Ride quality
The big dimensions do give the Nissan Almera a big car feel on the outside as well as inside in terms of space. However, the cabin layout feels boring and dated. The instrument console and center console feels outdated, while at the same time, the grey color scheme for interiors makes the cabin feel a bit dull.
The 1.5-liter petrol engine which powers the Nissan Almera sound powerful on paper, however, the engine feels lethargic and lazy while on the move. Also, the engine isn’t too good on the front of fuel efficiency, which might be a turn off for those family-oriented buyers who are looking for an economic car to upgrade from an entry-level hatchback.
At a time when even entry-level hatchbacks are stuffed with premium and contemporary features, the absence of features like a modern touch screen infotainment system and LED elements in headlights and tail lamps to make it feel simple for a car of its price.
