Honda showcases Sports Café concept, the CB650R Neo in Paris

MANILA: Honda recently showcased its CB650R Neo Sports Café Concept at the 2018 Mondial Paris Motor Show. The CB650R Neo is based on the brand's midrange super sports bike CBR650F. Honda is planning to place a midrange roadster into the market because the company already offers CB1000R in high-performance and CB300R in low range machines.

The looks of Honda CB650R are astonishing. The bike is designed on a muscular roadster platform with elements like ultra-short tail and vertically-stacked dual muffler with four-swooping exhaust pipes.

Remembering modern styling concepts, the CB650R has a front round headlight unit which carries two parallel LED enclosed with a ring LED. Along with the lighting, the beauty also offers Nissin double brake callipers. The bike is designed so well by the Honda R&D designing team that the CB650R completely outstands in the crowd with its 'naked' perspective.

Although the CB650R shares many technical components from the brand’s supersport CBR650F. The bike can be expected to offer a lot more for its naked roadster aspects with its 649 cc inline-four engine underneath. While the CBR650F which is powered by an inline-four 649 cc engine producing 86.6 PS at 11000 rpm and 60.5 Nm of torque at 8500. We can expect the Japanese manufacturers to offer 3 or 4 PS more power on the CB650R.

Now, the fact which remains as a mystery is, will Honda launch the CB650R Neo Sports Café or this will continue as a concept? If Honda launches this iconic roadster, the modern and minimalist styling of the CB650R Neo Sports Café has enough capability to hit the markets. And it will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Z650, Suzuki Bandit GSF 650, Kawasaki Er6n, Suzuki Gladius 650, Yamaha MT07, KTM Duke 750 and many more.

As per the expectations of the crowd in Paris, Honda may launch its mid-range roadster the CB650R Neo Sports Café in the market by September 2019.
