Suzuki to launch Burgman 15?

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) will launch its latest offering this weekend and it will likely be the Burgman 15.

The assumption followed the string of social media posts since last June 21, pertaining to the launch set this coming Saturday (June 27) at the Market! Market! Activity Center in Taguig.

“Intelligent Luxury Unlocked,” the photos about the supposed bigger stablemate of Burgman Street showed.

The three posts showed various portions namely the key fob and seat stitching, front fender, and taillamp.  The commenters in the posts have similar guesses about it.

While the company has yet to confirm, Zigwheels Philippines received some bits of information about the two-wheeler that will compete against the Honda PCX160 and Yamaha Nmax 155.

Here’s what we learned about the yet-to-be-revealed Suzuki Burgman 15—which is based on the Haojue UHR 150 maxi-scooter—prior to the official reveal.

Motorcycle specifications

Based on the information shared, the soon-to-be-introduced maxi-scooter offering from Suzuki will carry a P165,000-price tag and will have the following combined color options:

• White/Black
• Black and Gray

Released in Colombia two months ago, the model is fitted with a 149 cubic-centimeter engine that reportedly has the capacity to dish out:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	14
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	14

The model’s Philippine-spec version will probably carry a wide fascia, a central spine running between the rider’s legs, and 14-inch alloy wheels.

Also, it is expected to come with a digital instrument cluster where riders can connect their mobile device via Bluetooth. This offers turn-by-turn navigation, as well as text message and call alerts.

Other technologies and amenities that will likely be present on the Suzuki Burgman 15 include:

• Keyless ignition
• Idle stop-start system
• Disc brakes with dual channel anti-locking system
• Switchable traction control
• 25-liter underseat storage
• Eight-liter tank

Further, a suspension system made up of telescopic forks up front and dual rear shock absorbers is anticipated to be outfitted in the forthcoming model.
