Inside, the Chevrolet Groove features a high-tech minimalist cabin design, which offers a healthy balance of soft-touch materials and hard plastics. The cabin is spacious for four passengers, though the second row feels cramped when seating five. The Groove’s interior is finished in leather with red stitching all around. Its sport seats are well-bolstered and provide supportive cushioning for everyone on board. 

Through its cockpit, the drivers are given access to a 7-inch TFT driver information center display, which helps them monitor their current driving conditions, and a leather-wrapped electronic power steering wheel with multiple switches for adaptive cruise control, Bluetooth HandsFree, and infotainment controls. 

Aside from these, all passengers can enjoy a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display that offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth Handsfree, and AM/FM radio and is connected to a 6-speaker sound system. This crossover comes with two Type C outlets (one at the front and one at the rear), one Type A outlet at the front, and a 12V power outlet located in the center armrest. It also has a power sunroof for better lighting and natural air ventilation.

From the outside, the Chevrolet Groove carries the bow-tie brand’s premium-looking modern design language. Its facade looks aggressive yet smart at the same time courtesy of its blacked-out upper and lower grilles with chrome accents. It has an ethereal flare at night, which comes from its rectangular LED headlamps with an auto lighting control and intellibeam as well as halogen front fog lamps. 

Walking around this crossover, you’ll notice that it has a floating roof design that is enhanced by blacked-out C pillars and window trims on both sides. For a sporty sideview, it also comes with gloss black side mirrors with integrated sequential LED turn signals. Meanwhile, trailing behind this vehicle, its bold hindlook will definitely catch your attention. At the rear, it comes with LED tail lamps and fog lamps as well as dual exhaust pipes. For better visibility, it is also given an LED high mount stop lamp, which is integrated into its rear spoiler. It also sports a blacked-out rear bumper for more depth. 

In terms of dimensions, the Chevrolet Groove measures 4,365 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width, and 1,610 mm in height. It has a 2,550 mm wheelbase and a 155 mm ground clearance. It runs on a set of 17-inch two-color alloy wheels.

In terms of suspension, the Chevrolet Groove utilizes a MacPherson strut at the front and a Semi-Independent Torsion Beam with coil spring at the rear. The Groove handles pretty well for a subcompact crossover and has decent absorption of bumps and other road imperfections. That said, its suspension setup allows you and all your passengers to have a very comfortable and stable riding experience. 

The Chevrolet Groove is powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine that has a maximum power output of 150 PS and a maximum torque of 255 Nm. It runs on a continuously variable transmission system.

On paper, its performance metrics might not induce excitement, but its engine has just the right amount of power and torque to make it an effective and reliable daily cruiser in the city. It can run smoothly both in the city and on free-flowing highways. 

However, its CVT has a tendency to become a little jerky when you are passing through traffic inside the city. There are also occasional turbo lags but are not severe enough to disrupt your driving experience. Overall, this crossover is engineered to perform well as a city cruiser.

The Chevrolet Groove is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, front collision safety system, lane departure warning and prevention, emergency lane keeping, and an intellibeam. It also comes with 6 airbags, parking sensors, a reverse camera with dynamic trajectory, a tire pressure monitoring system, and other standard safety and security features. 

Its braking setup consists of ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear. Its braking setup is equipped with an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, traction control system, and a hydraulic brake assist.

Considering its looks, tech, and safety features, the Chevrolet Groove has a good potential to become more competitive among the gasoline-powered options within the country’s crossover market. It would make an enjoyable daily cruiser in the city for both single career-driven individuals and drivers with small families.
