Jetour X50 Review 2025
Abhishek Katariya says
One of the smallest and cheapest vehicles from the Chinese car manufacturer Jetour, the X50 is a rebadged version of the Soueast DX5 sold in China and comes with subtle design changes inside-out. In the Philippines car market, the Jetour X50 is being offered in three variants – Journey (PHP 888,000), Travel (PHP 988,000) and Sport (PHP 1,088,000). There are five colour choices of Jetour X50 in the Philippines – White, Black, Silver, Grey, and Blue.
Jetour X50 Interior & Features
Finished in a dual-tone black and beige theme, the cabin of the Jetour X50 has a simple look to it, with the large 20.5-inch full-TFT cockpit ensuring that it doesn’t lose out on modernity. This cockpit comprises 10.25-inch full-TFT screens for the instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system.
The Jetour X50 has a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with a hexagonal centre boss and silver accents around the broad spokes with controls on them. The AC vents on the centre console and dashboard corners have tapered edges with the same satin silver highlights as those on the steering wheel. The X50 might not be class-leading in terms of features, but it is decently equipped with premium features like a sunroof, wireless charger, faux leather upholstery, front and rear central armrests, air purifier, 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents and powered driver’s seat.
Jetour X50 Exterior
The Jetour X50 is a badge-engineered version of another Chinese compact crossover Soueast DX5, with which it shares its basic body line and a few design elements. However, both SUVs have different personalities, with the X50 having significant tweaks in its front and rear profiles. However, the front profile of the X50 looks subjective, as its unique design language might not appeal to everyone.
The front fascia of the Jetour X50 features a classic waterfall-styled grille, which has long tapered sides and chrome slats that make the front profile look bold and aggressive. The sides of the trapezoidal upper lip of the grille, which is finished in a gloss black theme and reads out Jetour branding, come attached with stretched headlamps that have LED projectors and daytime running LEDs within them. The front bumper has L-shaped satin silver garnish finishers on its corners, which add more character to the front profile.
Compared to the front profile, the side profile of the Jetour X50 looks toned-down, with the SUV having the slimmer-looking tip of the window surrounds moving towards the rear. The X50 rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and has a prominent curve flowing through the door panels too. At the back, the Jetour X50 has horizontally stretched LED tail lamps with curved outer extensions, while also having a roof-mounted spoiler.
Jetour X50 Ride & Handling
With an independent suspension setup at both ends, comprising Macpherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear, the Jetour X50 has a ride setup decently suited for the urban environment. The three driving modes on offer – Normal, Eco and Sport – further make the performance and driving dynamics more precise depending on the speed.
Jetour X50 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The engine option for the Jetour X50 is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This turbo-petrol engine churns out a maximum power output of 156 PS and a maximum torque output of 230 Nm. The engine scores well on refinement levels, but while specs feel strong on paper, they are not as enthusiastic in the real world.
Jetour X50 Braking & Safety
Along with a few premium ADAS features like blind spot detection, door open warning, rear traffic alert and lane change assist, the Jetour X50 also comes equipped with basics like front, side and curtain airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill start assist, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse parking sensors and 360-degree parking camera.
Jetour X50 Verdict
The Jetour X50 delivers impressive comfort levels, equipment and space in its cabin, though the performance and driving dynamics leave a lot to be desired. For its price, the X50 offers a decent value-for-money proposition.
