MV Agusta Turismo Veloce

For an adventure touring motorcycle, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has a very distinctive design language inspired by the other sports offerings from the Italian brand. With that approach, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has got a quintessential Italian flair in its visual appeal, without the traditional ruggedness of an adventure tourer. The design of the Turismo Veloce turns many heads with its curves and bold design, which looks timeless.

At the front, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has a minimalist appeal with a diamond-shaped all-LED headlamp nestled within a slanted fairing that has curves and creases sloping downwards. At the top of this front fascia, the Turismo Veloce gets a transparent adjustable windshield, while its LED turn indicators are integrated within the handlebar crash guards.

The front cowl of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce flows sideways and blends with the side extensions of the fuel tank, which also has a curvaceous design with nicely designed knee recesses. Both variants come with black-themed engine casings, exposed trellis frames and triple-port exhaust pipes in a vertical arrangement. While the Lusso SCS has bronze-coloured alloy wheels, the RC SCS has black alloy wheels with Italian tricolour highlights. 

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has a beautifully sculpted tail section, which accommodates wide and comfortable seats above it while having a wide T-shaped LED tail lamp at the back. This tail lamp cluster also comes integrated with boomerang-shaped LED turn indicators within it, to the sides of the main tail light. The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce comes standard with 34-litre side panniers for the convenience of carrying luggage while on the go. Behind the pillion seat, the Turismo Veloce also gets a practical pillion grab handle.

Behind the wide handlebar, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has a comprehensive and modern-looking 5.5-inch TFT screen for the instrument console. This display unit shows readings of the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, gear indicator and trip computer. The quality levels of most of the components of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce are top-notch, with the motorcycle rightfully deserving its expensive positioning.

Both the variants of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce are equipped with a premium suspension setup sourced from Sachs – a semi-active upside-down telescopic fork at the front and a semi-active mono-shock with spring preload adjustment at the rear. With MV Agusta Chassis Stability Control, the suspension setup of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce makes the motorcycle highly stable and sure-footed around the corners as well as over straight stretches. The ride quality, however, is on a stiffer side. Riding over 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/55 ZR17 rear tyres, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has dual 320mm discs at the front and a single 220mm disc at the rear for stopping duties.

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce has a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, inline-three, 798cc engine, which has been derived from the other middleweight offerings from MV Agusta. However, given the touring credentials of the Turismo Veloce, the engine has been tuned for a punchier midrange, with the engine here claiming 110 PS of maximum power output and 84 Nm of maximum torque output. The transmission on duty is a 6-speed unit, which gets a dry clutch in the Lusso SCS and a wet clutch in the RC SCS variants.

Along with features like Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, heated grips and dual-channel ABSS, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce also gets front lift control, traction control, cornering ABS and riding modes (Sport, Touring, Rain and Custom).

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce might not satisfy one’s hunger for hardcore off-roading, as it is more suited for outright performance and precise handling. These qualities of the Turismo Veloce make it more of a sports bike than a true-blue adventure tourer. However, with explosive power and sure-footed riding dynamics, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce ticks off as a potent long-distance tourer.
