Cabin check: What’s inside the Lynk & Co 01

Lynk & Co Philippines is already offering the 01 plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV). It was launched at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, and it has since settled in the electrified crossover market niche as a potent option for those wanting a stylish and efficient ride. 

Under the hood of the 01 five-seater crossover is a relatively peppy powertrain consisting of a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack. At maximum, the 01’s system can produce up to 256 horsepower and 265 Newton-meters of torque. It also has a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch gearbox and a 69-kilometer pure electric vehicle range. 

On the outside, the vehicle sports the Chinese marque’s unique and contemporary design language. Found on its front end is the Urban Matrix air-inlet grille, which is flanked by the PHEV unit’s LED headlamp fixtures. Parallel to its sculpted hood, meanwhile, is the vehicle’s LED daytime running lamps. 

From the side, the vehicle gets a sleek profile, which is made more appealing thanks to black plastic cladding and a set of 20-inch wheels. From the rear, it was provided with attractive-looking taillights, a subtle diffuser, and a dual exhaust setup, among others. 

The question now is: what is the interior of the Lynk & Co 01 offering to prospective buyers? Let’s find out. 

Feature-rich cabin

Step inside the 01, and you’ll be greeted by a cabin brimming with features. 

Starting with driver-centric bits, it was kitted out with power-adjustable front seats, lumbar support, a push-to-start button, and a well-arranged center console with physical buttons and knobs for driving functions and its automatic dual-zone climate control system. 

An auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, and lots of cupholders give more ease of use for the Lynk & Co crossover. All occupants also get additional enjoyment from road trips thanks to the presence of a panoramic sunroof and multi-color LED ambient lighting. 

Rear passengers, meanwhile, get access to a folding center armrest with two integrated cup holders. The rear seat also has a 60:40 split-folding functionality, which greatly expands the vehicle’s trunk. 

Speaking of which, the trunk of the model can be easily accessed thanks to a power tailgate. The said trunk also gets plenty of hooks, cubby holes, and a vertical net for added versatility. 

Moving on to appearance, the interior of the 01 was provided by Lynk & Co with a slick modern space filled with soft-touch surfaces and polished decorative materials. The seats, front and rear armrests, and some parts of the door cards are also clad in leather. 

Tech forward

Handling onboard entertainment and navigation for the Philippine-spec 01 is a 12.7-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The said screen’s music player, meanwhile, can output excellent sound quality through a 10-piece Harman Infinity Audio System. 

Along with the aforementioned wireless smartphone connectivity options, occupants of the model can totally ditch the need for wires thanks to the availability of a wireless smartphone charging pad. Folks who prefer to use cables, however, still get access to plenty of USB ports, as well as a 12-volt accessory outlet. 

Fitted for the driver, meanwhile, is a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel. It offers a good amount of customizability, and it is responsible for showing driving parameters, as well as the status of the vehicle’s battery charge and advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS). 

Comprehensive safety kit

Apart from the vehicle’s standard safety features, the 01 crossover also gets a comprehensive ADAS suite. 

Some notable technologies belonging to the said suite are adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning. 

While being a part of the vehicle’s safety kit, the adaptive cruise control feature can be very convenient for preventing driver fatigue, especially on long-distance trips. The vehicle’s automatic emergency braking, meanwhile, can prove to be invaluable, especially when navigating the busy and often chaotic streets of Philippine urban areas. 

Final thoughts

With a price of P2.338 million, the Lynk & Co 01 and what its interior is offering can be a good option for buyers in search of a plush but capable five-seater crossover. It has a lot of modern features, and it is easy on the eyes as well. 

So far, the insides of the 01 sound good, but car buyers who are seriously considering the said model are advised to give it a thorough test drive first. Doing so will provide a more informed purchase at the end of the day, after all.
