The available variants of the Philippine-spec Lynk & Co 06 include the Hyper Core+, Hyper Pro, and Hyper Halo.
  • How much horsepower and torque can the Lynk & Co 06 produce?

The Lynk & Co 06 can produce up to 178 horsepower and 290 Newton-meters of torque.
  • Appearance-wise, it looks sharp, and it gets a load of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS). It likewise boasts a peppy powertrain and a comfy but practical cabin.

The 06, however, has three different variants to choose from. There’s the entry-level Hyper Core+, the mid-spec Hyper Pro, and the top-of-the-line Hyper Halo. So, the question now is, how do these three trims differ from each other? Let’s find out.

Lynk & Co 06 Hyper Halo

Priced at P1.598 million, the Hyper Halo trim is the top dog of the 06 variant lineup.

On the outside, the aforementioned trim sports full LED lighting fixtures, a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, and a set of 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, and rear fog lamps likewise provide added convenience for its drivers.

Inside, the top-spec 06 gets a well-equipped cabin fitted with a combination of durable plastics and soft-touch surfaces. All of its seats, meanwhile, are clad in leather, while its occupants are kept cool and comfortable by a filtered automatic dual-zone climate control system.

For the driver specifically, the Hyper Halo gets a six-way power-adjustable seat with power lumbar support, a tilt and telescopic multi-function leather steering wheel, paddle shifters, an electronic parking brake, and a push-to-start button.

For on-board entertainment, the 06 Hyper Halo gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen linked to a six-piece speaker set. Over to the driver’s side is a 10.25-inch digital gauge. Smartphone connectivity, meanwhile, is handled by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes standard with wireless smartphone charging.

Handling safety for the model are several standard features and an ADAS suite. For its basic safety kit, it gets anti-lock braking, a 360-degree view camera, stability control, traction control, driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, anti-rollover protection, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring, and rear parking sensors.

Its ADAS suite, on the other hand, consists of adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, active high beam control, door opening warning, lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, rear-cross traffic alert, and rear collision warning.

Propelling the 06 Hyper Halo is a 1.5-liter inline-4 turbocharged gasoline engine capable of producing up to 178 horsepower and 290 Newton-meters of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels through a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch gearbox.

Lynk & Co 06 Hyper Pro

Offered at P1.488 million, the 06 Hyper Pro sits as the nameplate’s leaner mid-spec trim.

On the outside, it looks identical to the top-spec Hyper Halo. It also has the same exterior feature set with the higher trim, but otherwise, it uses simpler intermittent wipers and a manual tailgate.

Inside, the Hyper Pro largely has the same features, but its driver’s seat lacks lumbar support. It also doesn’t have LED ambient lighting and wireless smartphone charging, which are both available in the top-spec model.

For standard safety, the said variant sports a kit similar to the Hyper Halo. Its ADAS suite, however, is a significantly trimmed-down version, which only offers cruise control, forward collision warning, active high beam control, door opening warning, lane change assist, blind-spot detection, rear-cross traffic alert, and rear collision warning.

The Hyper Pro also uses the same engine and transmission system, as well.

    Lynk & Co 06 Hyper Core+

The most affordable variant of the 06 is the Hyper Core+, with its suggested retail price of P1.399 million. As of this writing, it is offered by Lynk & Co Philippines with an introductory price of P1.299 million.

Like the other two variants, this trim also gets full LED exterior lighting and a set of 18-inch wheels. It also gets most of the mid-spec Hyper Pro’s interior feature set, but its safety features are the simplest out of the three trims.

Specifically, it gets dual front airbags, anti-lock braking, hill-start assist, anti-rollover protection, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a 360-degree view camera. It gets little by way of ADAS features, but it was provided with cruise control.

Propelling the Hyper Core+ is the same 1.5-liter turbocharged mill found on the other two models. It gets an identical tune, producing 178 hp and 290 Newton-meters, as well as the same seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch gearbox.

    Final thoughts

In comparing the Lynk & Co 06 variants, it is fair to say that buyers will get more features the more money they fork over. Nevertheless, even the entry-level Hyper Core+ can provide great value as it isn’t actually barebones, especially when compared to the entry-level trims of its segment rivals.

Serious buyers of the Lynk & Co 06, however, are highly advised to take each variant for a good old test drive. Doing so, after all, will result in a more informed purchase in the end.
