2018 Honda Jazz/Fit revealed in Japan

MANILA: The Japanese automaker, Honda has recently released the first set of images of the upcoming 2018 Honda Jazz, which is also known as Fit in other markets. The updated Jazz now features a more aggressive front along with a revised sporty cabin. Not only this, the 2018 Honda Jazz is also bestowed with a list of new standard equipment.

 

The front is quite similar to the 2017 Honda City facelift and the headlights are coupled to LED daytime running lights in the top variant. The Wing Face grille is slightly tweaked and bumpers are reshaped. The prominent changes include larger fog lights, bigger chin spoiler, and wider side air intakes. From the teaser images, the rear reflects the updated combination of LED taillights that are now integrated into the premium hatchback of the company.

The images released are of the hybrid version but, the standard version will possess the same design cues. The cabin is refreshed with a two-tone color combination and the top-end model gets high-grade leather covering on the steering, seats, and door. The seats are also tweaked and now possess better side bolsters. Even the instrument panel is restyled to improve the sportiness of the hatchback.

Under the hood, the 2018 Honda Jazz Hybrid will be powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC inline-four cylinder engine that is further backed by an i-DCD hybrid system (Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive). Overall, the 7-speed dual clutch transmission features an integrated electric motor with a lithium-ion battery pack. With the new system in place, the 2018 Honda Jazz will be able to run on pure electricity (EV mode). The combined power output of the updated Jazz will be 137 PS.

Along with the hybrid motor, the 2018 Jazz will also get the standard 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC and i-DTEC inline four cylinder engines. The updated B-segment hatchback is likely to launch in the Japanese market by June 2017.
