2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio arrives in the Philippines

MANILA: Petromax Enterprises, the official distributor of Alfa Romeo vehicles in the Filipino market had promised to bring the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, world’s fastest SUV in the country last year. It has now revealed the car in the country and put it on display at the Petromax Enterprises’ showroom located in Metro Manila.

Alfa Romeo’s first SUV, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s name is inspired by the Stelvio Pass, which is one of the greatest driving roads in the world. The Quadrifoglio is also the Nurburgring’s fastest production SUV, which is designed by the Alfa Romeo artisans at Italy’s Cassino plant.

There will be 13 body color options along with 13 designs of the alloy wheels for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio. As for the interior, a bespoke designer suite is provided. Moreover, it features an Alfa Connect infotainment system which consists of customizable (8, 10, or 14 speakers) audio setups.

The Petromax Enterprises has brought two variants for the Filipino market - 2.2L Diesel and Stelvio Quadrifoglio 2.9L. The former is the base variant and comes with a power output of 190 hp, while the later is the top-spec variant with 510 hp power output. Moreover, the car will also have a 2.0L Turbo Petrol mill, which will churn out a maximum power of 200 hp. All the above-mentioned engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic as standard.

Performance-wise, the world’s fastest SUV features nearly a perfect weight distribution of 50/50 and gets the most direct steering ratio for the SUV segment. The usage of aluminium in suspension, tailgate, doors, and hood along with the carbon fibre at the drive shaft make the car lightweight. It will also get the Q4 all-wheel-drive system by Alfa Romeo.

Speaking of the safety features, the 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio features the innovative electromechanical system which improves the stability control and traditional servo brake resulting in an increase in the brake response and stopping distance. Moreover, it also features the Integrated Brake System (IBS). The SUV also gets Autonomous Emergency Brake having pedestrian detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Warning.
