Jeep, Alfa Romeo models gain top spots in 2024 JD Power US APEAL study

MANILA: J.D. Power’s United States Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (US APEAL) study has hailed the Alfa Romeo Tonale, Giulia, and Jeep Wagoneer as the top cars in their respective segments for 2024. 

Notably, all three cars belong to the multinational automotive manufacturing corporation Stellantis. Car brands operating under the company’s wing include Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge, Jeep, Fiat, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, Vauxhall, and DS. 

Apart from the accolades for the three aforementioned models, the study also ranked Ram in second place among mass-market brands. To note, it is the fifth consecutive time Ram has gained the said position in the US APEAL study.

Additionally, the Ram 1500 ranked second in the large light-duty pickup truck segment of the study. The Ram 2500 and 3500 also tied for second place among heavy-duty pickup trucks. 

According to the senior vice president for North American customer experience at Stellantis, Bill Kendal, the top ranks for the said models is a sign of the carmaker’s continued pursuit of innovation. 

“If you consider the broad range of vehicles that contributed to these results, it’s clear that creativity is baked into our existence as a company. We know how to design in pursuit of products that are even more inspired,” Kendal said. 

To note, the J.D. Power US APEAL study takes into account customer feedback on the latest cars. Specifically, it is a survey that tallies car owners' perceptions of 37 vehicle attributes. The said survey covers the car’s styling, how it feels to drive, the comfort of its interior, and the vehicle’s driving performance, among others.

In the Philippines, available Alfa Romeo models include the Giulia, the Stelvio, the Giulia Quadrifoglio, and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Jeep Philippines, meanwhile, offers the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee L. 

Other Stellantis brands sold by various licensed distributors in the local market include Abarth, Peugeot, Ram, Maserati, and Dodge.
