2019 Jeep Wrangler JL to land on Filipino shores in March

MANILA: We are used to the fact of getting our hands on the newest vehicles only after a delay. The West appears to be the favourite territory for the automakers to launch their vehicles first and foremost.

Toyota, the Japanese automaker, though, recently organised the global unveil of the 2019 Hiace in the Philippines. And we hope the ASEAN region get to witness more such global launches soon. Coming back to the vehicle in focus, the 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL. It is set to arrive in the Philippines in March and made its global debut as early as in 2017 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

With modern and up to date elements like the hood, doors, and tailgate made of aluminium, the Wrangler JL still carries forward its body-on-frame with solid axles front and back. While the vehicle is equipped with the latest infotainment system and state of the art safety features, the “heritage-inspired” styling can still be seen dribbling out of it.

The news of the official launch was confirmed by Auto Nation Group. The company takes care of the distribution of vehicles by brands like Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and RAM in the country. While there is not much known about what will be under the hood of the 2019 Wrangler JL in the Philippines,

the US market gets it with 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 that produces 289 PS and 352 Nm. There are two more engine options in the US which include a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder motor (274 PS and 400 Nm) and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel (264 PS and 599 Nm).

In some other automobile markets barring the US, Jeep also offers a 2.2-litre MultiJet II that capable enough of pumping out 203 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 450 Nm. Power delivery to the wheels is assigned to an eight-speed automatic transmission unit irrespective of the engine option.
