2020 BMW M2 CS unveiled, comes with 450 horsepower and manual gearbox

MANILA: Have you ever felt that BMW M2 and M2 Competition cars are somewhat lacking in terms of power? If yes, then go for the more powered new M2 CS offered by the German automaker.

The brand is ready to roll out the high powered M2 with a manual as well as a dual-clutch transmission option.

As we have seen in previous CS models, the M2 CS features more power, better handling, and more aggressive looks. Let’s talk about the mechanical bits first, the model still has the same twin-turbo S55 inline-six engine but has better power generation capacity this time. It now delivers 450 PS of power and 550 Nm of torque. You can find the same powertrain in the M3 and M4 Competition models.

Although 7-speed M dual-clutch gearbox is optional, standard 6-speed manual transmission makes it more exciting, which allows you to handle your gears on your own. If we see the 0-100 kmph run, it reduces to 4.0 seconds with the manual and 3.8 seconds with the automatic because of added power.

To improve vehicle handling, the vehicle is loaded with the following upgrades:

• Standard adaptive M suspension (offering Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ modes)
• M Sport brakes with red-painted calipers (M carbon-ceramic brakes are optional)
• Active M differential and M Dynamic mode
• Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires wrap a set of 19-inch forged wheels 

Inside, the 2020 M2 CS has taken the lightweight M racing seats from the M4 CS, replete with Merino and Alcantara covers. The firm is also offering an optional M sports steering wheel with an exclusive Alcantara covering.
