BMW PH temporarily bolsters lineup with limited X5 xDrive50e xLine

MANILA: BMW Philippines — under the stewardship of SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation — bolstered its local lineup with the X5 xDrive50e xLine.

Adding to its sport utility vehicle (SUV) lineup, the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) arrives as a limited release, with only 50 units available nationwide. 

“Bringing an unmatched blend of commanding performance, sophisticated design elements, and advanced electrified efficiency, this premium vehicle is designed to elevate the modern driving experience,” the local wing of the German car brand wrote in a press release.

Electrified powertrain

Under the hood of the BMW X5 xDrive50e xLine PHEV is a 2,998 cubic-centimeter gasoline engine paired with a synchronous electric motor.

The setup generates up to 489 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters of torque. 

In addition, the hybrid powertrain sends the vehicle from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.8 seconds and offers a generous pure electric driving range of 100 to 118 kilometers.

Even when operating with a discharged battery — BMW Philippines pointed out — the vehicle maintains stellar efficiency, all while adhering to the rigorous Euro6d emission rating.

Fit, finish

Outside, the BMW X5 xDrive50e xLine boasts classic xLine treatment and an Exterior Line in Satin Aluminum.

At the fore is the BMW kidney grille with the striking “iconic glow” illumination, while the side profile is highlighted by elegant 19-inch light alloy wheels. 

Further, the vehicle is fitted with a standard adaptive two-axle air suspension, as well as acoustic protection for pedestrians alongside BMW Iconic Sounds Electric, which delivers immersive acoustic feedback inside the cabin during electric driving.

Speaking of which, the interior gets premium Sensafin décor stitching upholstery, and exquisite fine-wood trim in “fineline stripe” brown high-gloss.

Tech-wise, the driver-centric cockpit debuts the BMW Live Cockpit Plus with of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment system running on the state-of-the-art iDrive Operating System 8.5.

Other premium interior conveniences include sport seats equipped with lumbar support, a HiFi loudspeaker system, a “comfort access system,” and a wireless charging tray, while comprehensive safety is ensured via integrated driving and parking assistants.

Pricing

The BMW X5 xDrive50e xLine PHEV stickers for P5.498 million.

Included in the vehicle is a portable flexi charger, a five-year comprehensive BMW warranty (or 200,000 kilometers [km>, whichever comes first), and an 8-year warranty for the electric battery (or 120,000km, whichever comes first). 

Customers can select from a brilliant palette of metallic exterior finishes including Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Manhattan, Skyscraper Grey, and Blue Ridge Mountain, paired with premium Sensafin interior tones, including Black, Coffee, or Cognac.
