2021 Kia Optima is one gorgeous looking car

MANILA: Kia has just unveiled its newest sedan offering—the Kia K5 also known as the would-be 2021 Kia Optima, and it is a stunner. Though it is equipped with Korean specs, for now, a global debut is soon to follow after.

After months of teaser photos, the South Korean automaker finally revealed the official photos for the K5 and it is as gorgeous as the new Hyundai Sonata.

The K5, which will officially go on sale next month, and will have a bigger dimension compared to the previous model. The new K5 is longer by two inches, wider by an inch, and now has a longer wheelbase at 112.2 inches. The overall roofline has also been dropped a little lower, by 0.8 inches, to emphasize the fastback silhouette. The overall look and styling is a sleek and sporty car that could fit happily with the likes of Audi A7 or BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe without the K5 feeling insecure.

On the exterior, the K5 boasts a signature front grille that the company dubbed as “Tiger Nose Evolution.” The grille, which gets inspiration from shark skin, connects the headlights for a seamless finish. The headlights itself look very futuristic and stylish with LED daytime running light as an accent. Bold contours with crease lines running across the length of the bonnet. The design concept continues on the rear with taillights that wrapped around the back of the car and a barely noticeable wing. Chrome highlights are toned down and limited to the door handles and above the frameless windows.

According to Kia, the all-new K5 will be available in 16-inch to 19-inch machine-cut aluminum alloy wheels, in a choice of gloss black, dark gray, or light gray finishes. Color options have not been revealed. But based on the official photos, expect it to include a striking blue and charcoal gray options.

Despite releasing the official photos, Kia declined to disclose details with regards to the cabin and interior trims. But we can only guess that it will exude the same stylish and modern feel as the outside of the car.
