MANILA: The final leg of Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup is primed and ready to commence at 9 a.m. on November 9, 2024, at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Mabalacat, Pampanga.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing models that will be showcased at the final leg of the 2024 TGR Philippines Cup are the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and GR86.As promised by TMP, the upcoming TGR Philippine Cup final leg will filled with exciting wheel-to-wheel racing. The race weekend will start with the Sprint Races for the Novice, Promotional, Sporting, and Super Sporting classes.
Winners of the final leg's Sprint Races will be determined by points based on a racer’s finishing position. Meanwhile, the competitors with the highest points will be declared the season champion.
Currently leading the standings in the Novice Class is sim racer Russel Reyes, followed closely by media racer Jamil Lacuna of Autoindustriya and John Rey San Diego of Autocar PH in third.
Topping the points standings in the Super Sporting Class, meanwhile, is Iñigo Anton of the Toyota Balintawak - Obengers Racing Team, followed by Russel Cabrera from Team Toyota Cebu in second, and Red Diwa of JBT Racing/Toyota Isabela in third.
Leading the pack in the Sporting Class, meanwhile, is Jiro Garbes of Inbox - Toyota San Fernando, followed by Jarond Mesina of Team Toyota Cebu in second, and Danzel Waytan of JD Motorsports - Ribbon Arc in third.
The Promotional Class, on the other hand, is currently led in points by Bong Garbes of Inbox - Toyota San Fernando, Julia Delos Angeles of Toyota San Jose Del Monte, Inc. - Obengers Racing Team in second, and Rex Abrenilla of Team Toyota Cebu in third.
Also competing in the Sprint Races this coming weekend are influencers Reph Bangsil and Lexi Mendiola, media racers Pablo Salapantan and Jose Altoveros from Yugo Auto, and TMP President Masando Hashimoto.
After the Sprint Races, all racers from the four classes will go head-to-head in the season’s final Endurance Race. Participants of the aforementioned 1.5-hour circuit race will also gain points, which will be added to the overall tallies.
Apart from the hot racing action this weekend, Toyota Gazoo Racing fans also have a chance to witness the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and GR86 take on the agile curves and fast straights of CIS. Plus, blood-pumping sideways action will be exhibited by professional drifters Dane Cruz and Hans Jimenez using the GR86.
Other fun activities set to enhance the festiveness of the season’s final leg include the TGR GT Cup sim racing experience booth, as well as product displays from the event’s lineup of official partners.
To note, admission to the 2024 TGR Philippines Cup is free for everyone. Plus, event-goers can also take advantage of a free shuttle service from SM Clark to CIS and vice versa.
