BAIC B30e Dune’s initial batch in PH sold out

MANILA: The BAIC B30e Dune immediately gained a strong following in the Philippines as the initial batch that arrived early had been completely sold out.

According to the United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated-led automotive distributor, the first 120 examples for the local market were turned over to their respective owners in a span of two months — which showed that there is a strong demand for the hybrid offering.

Following this, BAIC Philippines shared that a new batch of B30e Dune has arrived.

To note, the nameplate officially entered the Philippine market last September 19.

Specifications

Here are some bits of information about the vehicle.

The vehicle measures 4,730 millimeters (mm) long; 1,910 mm wide; and 1,790 mm tall — with a 2,820-mm wheelbase and 215-mm ground clearance. It also has an approach angle of 24.5 degrees, departure angle of 30 degrees, and 450-mm wading depth.

Powering the vehicle is either a single or pair of electric motors (depending on the trim chosen) with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that acts as a power generator and is mated to a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. On paper, the aforementioned setup can deliver as much as 403 horsepower and 685 Newton-meters of torque.

The said vehicle can reportedly reach 100 kilometers per hour from standstill in less than seven seconds.

Giving the BAIC B30e Dune an off-roader appeal is its beefy exterior styling that matches the wraparound LED daytime running lamps at the front fascia as well as the 19-inch, two-tone aluminum alloy wheels.

These are the pricing of the BAIC B30e Dune:

• 4x2: P1.488 million
• 4x4: P1.788 million

In addition, both variations can be had in dressed-up editions namely the Tourer 4x2 and Vanguard 4x4. According to the company, the said offerings are outfitted with premium off-roading kits.
