BAIC PH unleashes B30e Dune

MANILA: BAIC Philippines — under the leadership of United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated — has launched the B30e Dune sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Per the local wing of the Chinese carmaker, the BAIC B30e Dune (offered in a 4x2 and 4x4 variant) is a hybrid vehicle capable of conquering both city streets and rough unpaved roads.

Under its hood is the brand’s Dual Motor Smart Hybrid System. The BAIC B30e Dune 4x2 gets a single electric motor paired with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine while the B30e Dune 4x4 benefits from an additional electric motor.

The former makes some 329 horsepower (hp) and 550 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Even better, the latter dishes out 403 hp and 685 Nm of pulling power.

Complementing the hybrid powertrain are seven drive modes, which are Comfort, Sport, Economy, Snow, Sand, Muddy Road, and Wading.

Helping the BAIC B30e Dune conquer various terrains is a set of 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/60 series tires.

Adding to its off-roading capabilities is an approach angle of 24.5 degrees, departure angle of 30 degrees, and a wading depth of 450 millimeters.

Providing comfort and convenience while going over rough roads is a fully digital driver’s interface with a huge 10.25-inch instrument panel as well as an equally expansive 14.6-inch floating central display with screen mirroring connectivity.

Other notable features include leather seats, panoramic sunroof, and power-adjustable seats.

Hauling cargo is also not going to be a problem as it can accommodate up to 1,496 liters of luggage.

Interestingly, the BAIC B30e Dune comes standard with a cleverly integrated trunk picnic table. It folds behind the second-row seats and serves as a tonneau cover when set in place to help keep items secure.

And while we’re on the topic of security, BAIC Philippines noted that the B30e Dune gets Level 2 advanced driver assist technology. These come in the form of cruise control, integrated cruise assist, intelligent high beam control, blind spot monitoring system, lane assist system, lane change assist, emergency lane keep assist, forward collision warning, rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross travel warning, rear cross travel braking, and door opening warning.

Here are the pricing for the B30e Dune’s two variants:

• BAIC B30e Dune 4x2: P1.588 million
• BAIC B30e Dune 4x4: P1.888 million

BAIC Philippines said that until September 30, 2024, customers looking to drive home the hybrid SUV enjoy a P100,000 discount off the B30e Dune’s sticker price.
