BMW PH rolls out new 750e xDrive PHEV

MANILA: BMW Philippines, under the stewardship of SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, has rolled out the new 750e xDrive plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV). 

According to the local wing of the German car brand, the model represents the pinnacle of the marque’s engineering and innovation by seamlessly blending cutting-edge electrification with BMW’s hallmark driving dynamics. 

“It embodies a perfect balance of performance, comfort, and sophistication, setting a new benchmark in the premium luxury sedan segment while advancing BMW’s vision of sustainable, intelligent mobility,” the compay wrote in a press release.

Power meets efficiency

Under the bonnet of the BMW 750e xDrive PHEV is the car manufacturer’s renowned TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter, inline, six-cylinder engine, paired with a highly responsive electric motor. 

Together, the setup dishes out some 489 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters of torque. The said numbers reflect the car’s capabilities and allow it to zoom from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in just 4.8 seconds. Speed peaks at 250 kph. 

Power is transmitted through an eight-speed Steptronic Sport Transmission. The said system offers rapid, yet seamless gear shifts, while the xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system distributes torque dynamically for maximum traction and stability. 

Rage-wise, the BMW 750e xDrive PHEV can drive up to 86 kilometers (km) using electric power alone. Combined, it has an estimated range of approximately 750 km. 

Fit, finish 

Reflecting its progressive powertrain is a look that is as modern as it is bold. 

At the fore is the iconic BMW kidney grille with “Iconic Glow” illumination, flanked by sleek adaptive LED headlights. Onto its sides are a set of 20-inch two-tone light alloy wheels. 

Sitting atop the roof is a panoramic glass that allows natural light to enter the cabin. Adding to the luxurious feel of the vehicle are soft-close doors. Meanwhile, the Comfort Access package adds effortless convenience. 

Inside, the BMW 750e xDrive PHEV gets premium Veganza upholstery complemented by fine-wood limewood with fineline brown open-pored trim.

Evoking a sense of immersion is the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System that feeds off the audio from its wide digital infotainment system. Other notable interior features include a four-zone automatic climate control and roller sun blinds for rear passengers.

The BMW 750e xDrive PHEV is priced at P7.99 million. 

Per the car manufacturer, every purchase comes with a portable flexi charger and a five-year comprehensive BMW warranty (or 200,000 km, whichever comes first).
