BYD Cars PH starts accepting pre-orders for new Tang DM-i

MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines has started accepting reservations for the upcoming Tang DM-i.

The ACMobility subsidiary announced that pre-orders for the latest member of the Super DM-i lineup — which is considered as the brand’s biggest sport utility vehicle yet — have commenced since yesterday (September 1).

“With the introduction of the new BYD Tang DM-i, we are expanding our Super DM-i lineup to address the diverse needs of Filipino families,” BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca was quoted as saying.

According to the company, the official launch of the new BYD Tang DM-I is set for September where it will reveal the hybrid model’s specifications as well as pricing.

Vehicle specifications

Per the Ayala-led automotive distributor, the new Tang DM-i is equipped with a BYD Blade Battery and advanced Super DM-i technology that gives the vehicle a range of up to 1,160 kilometers (kms) and 110 kms when on pure electric mode.

Such capabilities, BYD Cars Philippines noted, ensure efficiency for everyday use while offering the confidence and convenience required for long-distance travel.

The firm also claimed that the new BYD Tang DM-i can haul up to seven individuals with its roomy cabin and is fitted with premium features, as well as advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies.

“As the largest model in the range, the Tang DM-i delivers the space, versatility, and advanced technology that many customers look for in an SUV, while reinforcing our commitment to make electric mobility more accessible,” BYD Philippines Country Head Adam Hu said.

Based on the specifications stated in the homologation papers from the Land Transportation Office, the vehicle can reach a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour.
