CAMPI-TMA YTD sales for May 2025 shows slight growth

MANILA: The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) saw a slight increase in their consolidated year-to-date sales for May 2025.

    Last month alone, the two organizations collectively turned over 39,775 vehicles to buyers. The aforementioned volume is 18.4-percent higher than the 33,580 units rolled out to clients in April 2025 but is 1.2-percent lower when measured up against May 2024’s 40,271 vehicles retail performance.

    Numbers per category

    Leading the sales for CAMPI-TMA are models under the commercial vehicle segment. Under the said category, the groups jointly rolled out 151,704 units during the January-May 2025 — 10 percent more than the 137,944 examples sold for the said timeline last year.

    Meanwhile, overall year-over-year passenger car sales dips by 21.4 percent after selling only 38,725 units.

    The same record showed that out of the groups’ overall retail performance for the initial five months, 10,433 of which are new energy vehicles.

    “We are encouraged by the industry’s sustained growth, especially with commercial vehicles driving overall performance. This reaffirms the significant role of the automotive sector in supporting the country’s economic activities,” CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez said.

    CAMPI-TMA leaders as of May 2025

    Keeping its lead in the group is Toyota Motor Philippines with 91,652 units sold — holding 48.13-percent share of the organizations’ output — followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation with its 36,613-vehicle churn.

    Nissan Philippines is still at third spot after it handed over 9,879 units to its customers.

    Placing fourth in the CAMPI-TMA sales rankings is Suzuki Philippines — selling 8,913 units and cornering 4.68-percent market share as of last month.

    Ford Motor Company Philippines retained its position at fifth place after retailing 8,559 vehicles (4.49 percent share).

    H2 2025 outlook

    In a joint statement, the groups remain confident in their collective output.

    “With strong momentum heading into the second half of the year, CAMPI remains confident in the automotive industry’s positive performance. Continued collaboration between government and industry stakeholders will be key to sustaining this growth,” CAMPI-TMA noted.
